NO SCHOOL WOOHOO

Just because you’re staying indoors, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.

Here’s a collection of March Break activities to keep your kids happy and engaged this whole week.

Go to the library

Many libraries have March Break activities and programs during the break. Just because there’s no school doesn’t mean our brains take a break. Let you kids grab some really good books from the library, and spend at least 30 minutes a day reading.

Make it fun! Start a 7 day or even 30-Day Reading Challenge and see how many books you and your kids can read during that time!

have a picnic at the park

Picnics are a classic spring time activity. While in some places of the world (like here in Canada)it may still be a little chilly, but you can still make it fun!

Pack some lunches, snacks, and drinks. Blankets, pillows, and toys, and make it special.

While at the park you can birdwatch, look for spring time foliage or create your own spring time scavenger hunt.

Movie day / Movie night

What kid doesn’t love movies. Grab all the blankets and pillows, and make a comfy fort. Popcorn and snacks are essential! Make your favourite movie time snacks and watch their favourite movies.
Spice it up by watching something new and different.

Or make it a routine, watch one movie a day during Spring Break for a fun moment everyday.

go swimming

While it may be too cold over here, to jump in the backyard pool. Many recreational centers have swimming programs and activities during Spring Break.
Practice your backstroke, breaststroke and perfect the perfect dive. Free swim days are perfect for a last minute fun family activity.

Go Skating

This one is for the Canadians! Here in Toronto, we still have mountains of snow everywhere. March Break still looks and feels cold. So why not engage in some late time winter activities?
It’s still cold enough over here to skate outside, but our local community center has an ice rink and skates to rent! Great way to get in some exercise while having fun!

Make arts and crafts

Grab all your paints, paper and glue! Creating crafts will be sure to keep your kids entertained. There are soo many things that you can make! Need some ideas? St.Patricks Day is coming up, so make a Handprint Leprechaun with us!
Here’s a couple other spring break crafts that you can make:

Play board games

Our little family loves board games! Our favourites are Hungry Hungry Hippo and the classic Game of Tic Tac Toe.

Play with LEGO’s

Build cities, cars and animals! Your imagination is the only limit. March Break is the perfect time to build that huge LEGO dinosaur you (I mean, your kids) have been wanting to build! Working together as a family to create something awesome is sure to create memories to last a lifetime.
